General Claims Advice

Report claims promptly

Under Spanish insurance law (Ley 50/1980), a claim must be reported within 7 days of the incident. The easiest way is to report it to us — we log it with the insurer on your behalf and handle the process in English. We recommend telling us within 48 hours while details are fresh. Late reporting can affect the outcome of your claim.

Keep all documentation

Photograph everything at the scene. Keep all invoices, receipts, police reports, medical certificates and correspondence. Do not carry out repairs or dispose of damaged items before Generali has assessed them, unless it is necessary to prevent further damage.

Do not admit fault

For any claim involving a third party — motor accident, liability, property damage — do not make any statement admitting responsibility. Determining fault is the role of the insurers and, where necessary, the courts.
