General Claims Guidance
While the detailed guide is being finalised, here is general guidance that applies to all Generali insurance claims in Spain:
- Report promptly: Spanish insurance law (Ley 50/1980) requires claims to be reported within 7 days of the incident. Report as soon as possible, ideally within 48 hours.
- Have your policy number ready: This is printed on your insurance certificate. If you cannot find it, call Turner Insurance on 966 461 625.
- Photograph everything: Before any repairs or clean-up, photograph all damage from multiple angles.
- Keep all documentation: Invoices, receipts, police reports, medical certificates, correspondence — keep everything relating to the incident.
- Do not admit fault: For any incident involving a third party, do not make statements accepting responsibility. Fault is determined by the insurers.
- Do not carry out repairs yet: Do not repair or dispose of damaged items before Generali has assessed them, unless necessary to prevent further damage. If urgent work is needed, photograph first and retain all invoices.
