Critically, it also acts as the gateway policy for Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros catastrophe claims — including DANA flooding. A valid private seguro de comunidad must have been in force at the time of a catastrophic event for the Consorcio to process the claim. • Some harbour-area communities have communal boat storage or marina-access facilities — these need to be declared when setting up the policy.
• Many communities near the Montgó mountain approach are smaller bungalow-type developments — manageable premiums but the same civil liability exposure as larger blocks.
