Business Travel Insurance in Spain

All-round travel cover for self-employed and employed expats travelling for work — plus business equipment, documents and professional liability, from Generali.

Business travel insurance in Spain gives you every benefit of a standard Generali travel policy — emergency medical care, repatriation, cancellation, baggage and personal liability — with added protection for the things that matter when you travel for work: your laptop and equipment, business money and documents, and professional liability. It is arranged from Spain by Turner Insurance, your exclusive Generali agent, for self-employed and employed expats who make work trips at home or abroad.

What business travel insurance covers

A business policy is built on the same Generali travel framework as our single-trip and annual multi-trip cover, then extended for working travellers. The table shows the core cover areas. Exact sums insured depend on the cover level and territory you choose, and are confirmed on your quote and Particular Conditions.

Cover areaWhat it protects
Emergency medical & repatriationMedical, surgical, hospital, pharmacy and emergency dental costs abroad, medical transport and repatriation to Spain — typically €300,000 up to unlimited, with at least €1m advised for the USA and Canada.
Business equipment & laptopLoss, theft or damage to the laptop, phone, samples and work equipment you travel with, subject to per-item and overall limits.
Business money & documentsBusiness cash, cards and essential travel and work documents lost or stolen on the trip.

24-hour assistance & personal accidentRound-the-clock multilingual assistance line, legal services abroad and personal accident (death & disability) cover.

Who it is for

The cover applies to trips for professional reasons as well as leisure, so the same policy works for a mix of work and personal travel. Note that the policy is designed for office and commercial work that needs no physical effort; manual work and professional sport are not covered.

Single trip or annual multi-trip?

One work trip

A single-trip policy covers one defined journey — ideal for an occasional conference or one-off assignment. It is the only option that can include a declared pre-existing medical condition.

Travelling all year

The annual multi-trip (Anual Multiviaje) policy covers unlimited trips of up to 90 days each across the year on one contract, with a maximum entry age of 75. It is already live before any last-minute trip, so you are covered the moment you travel.

If you make three or more work trips a year, the annual multi-trip policy is usually better value than buying single-trip cover each time. Europe annual cover starts from around €60/year and worldwide from around €120/year, depending on age, territory and cover level. The full annual wording is in our multi-trip policy conditions.

Check the limits for your kit and your destinations. Business equipment cover is subject to per-item and overall limits, so a high-value laptop or specialist equipment may need to be specified separately on the policy. For travel to the USA or Canada, make sure your medical limit is at least €1,000,000. We confirm the exact equipment, money and medical limits on your quote before you buy.

Frequently Asked Questions

On top of all the standard travel benefits — emergency medical care, repatriation, cancellation, baggage and personal liability — a business policy adds cover for your business equipment and laptop, business money and documents, professional liability while working away, optional conference and trip cancellation, and emergency business-continuation assistance. It is designed for self-employed and employed people travelling for work.
Yes. Business travel insurance covers loss, theft or damage to the laptop, phone, samples and work equipment you travel with. Cover is subject to per-item and overall limits, so a high-value laptop or specialist kit may need to be specified separately on the policy with its value declared. We confirm the exact equipment limits on your quote.
If you make one occasional work trip, a single-trip policy is usually cheapest — and it is the only option that can include a declared pre-existing medical condition. If you travel for work three or more times a year, the annual multi-trip (Anual Multiviaje) policy is normally better value: it covers unlimited trips of up to 90 days each, with a maximum entry age of 75, and is already in force before any last-minute departure.
Yes. The annual multi-trip policy covers trips for professional reasons as well as for leisure, so the same cover works for a mix of work and personal travel through the year. It is intended for office and commercial work that needs no physical effort; manual work and professional sport are excluded.
Trip cancellation is available as an optional module that reimburses the unavoidable costs of a work trip or conference you have to call off for a covered reason — such as illness, accident, bereavement, job loss or jury duty. The cause must generally arise more than 72 hours after the insurance is taken out, unless the cover is bought with the trip. The full list of covered reasons is in the cancellation conditions.
For business travel to the USA, Canada or the Caribbean, make sure your medical limit is at least €1,000,000, because treatment and air-ambulance costs there are far higher than in Europe. Europe-only annual policies normally exclude transatlantic destinations, so you will need worldwide cover — from around €120/year, depending on age and cover level.
