Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance in Spain

One Generali policy that covers unlimited trips for a whole year — ideal if you travel from Spain more than two or three times a year.

Annual multi-trip travel insurance is a single Generali policy — the Anual Multiviaje — that covers an unlimited number of trips from Spain across a full year, so you never have to buy a new policy each time you travel. It is our most popular travel product for British, Irish, Dutch and Northern-European residents who take several holidays or business trips a year, and it can be taken out up to a maximum entry age of 75.

What annual multi-trip travel insurance covers

The annual policy applies the same guarantee framework as a single-trip Generali travel policy to every trip you take during the year, up to the limits for your chosen cover level. The figures below are typical starting points for the Europe and Worldwide tiers; your own limits are confirmed on your quote and Particular Conditions.

Adventure and outdoor sports, winter sports (ski/snowboard), cruise cover and a rental-car excess waiver are available depending on the cover tier you choose — some are included on the higher tier and others are optional add-ons. Pre-existing medical conditions are covered by an optional module on either tier.

Who annual multi-trip insurance is for

An annual policy is usually better value than buying single-trip cover each time, so it is the natural choice if you travel regularly. It suits you if you:

How the annual policy works

The insurance runs for one year, with the start and end dates set out in your Particular Conditions. Within that year you can take as many trips as you like, with each trip subject to a maximum duration per departure. The per-trip cap is a policy option — depending on the cover chosen it may be up to 45, 60 or 90 consecutive days per trip — and the exact figure that applies to you is confirmed on your quote. Each trip's cover begins when you leave your habitual home and ends when you return.

Unlimited trips

No cap on the number of journeys in the year — only on the duration of each individual trip.

Per-trip duration cap

Each trip is covered up to a set number of consecutive days per departure (an option on the policy). For longer single stays you need separate long-stay or expat cover.

Max entry age 75

The policy can be taken out up to age 75. Over-65s may pay a higher premium.

Business & leisure

Covers professional trips (other than manual work) as well as holidays, on the same annual policy.

Optional trip-cancellation module

Where contracted, the optional cancellation module reimburses the unavoidable costs of a trip you have to call off for a covered reason — illness, accident, death, job loss, jury duty, serious damage at home, and many more. The full list of covered reasons and conditions is set out in the Anual Multiviaje policy conditions.

Mind the per-trip duration limit. An annual multi-trip policy covers unlimited trips, but each trip is capped at a maximum number of consecutive days per departure. It is built for repeated shorter trips, not one long stay — if you intend to be away for several months at a stretch you will need long-stay or expat cover instead. The exact per-trip cap, the medical and cancellation limits, and your territorial scope (Spain, Europe or Worldwide) are all confirmed on your quote and Particular Conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

For most travellers, yes. An annual multi-trip policy is usually better value than separate single-trip policies once you take roughly three or more trips a year — from that point the one annual premium typically works out cheaper than buying cover trip by trip. If you only travel once or twice a year, a single-trip policy may be more economical. Call us on 966 461 625 and we will price both side by side.
There is no limit on the number of trips in the year, but each individual trip is capped at a maximum number of consecutive days per departure. That per-trip cap is an option on the policy — depending on the cover chosen it can be up to 45, 60 or 90 days — and the figure that applies to you is confirmed on your quote and Particular Conditions. The policy is designed for repeated shorter trips rather than one long stay.
The Generali Anual Multiviaje policy can be taken out up to a maximum entry age of 75. Travellers over 65 may pay a higher premium, and any declared pre-existing medical conditions are covered through an optional module that can affect the price.
Yes. The annual multi-trip policy covers trips taken for professional reasons — other than manual work — as well as leisure travel, all on the same policy. This makes it a practical choice if you mix work and holiday travel through the year.
You choose the territorial scope when you take out the policy — typically Spain, Europe or Worldwide. The Europe tier covers trips from Spain across Europe (including the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands); the Worldwide tier extends cover further afield, including the USA and Canada. Assistance cannot be guaranteed in countries at war or unrest, or where your government advises against travel; an updated list of excluded territories is published by Generali. Your exact scope is shown on your Particular Conditions.
Trip cancellation is available as an optional module. Where contracted, it reimburses the unavoidable costs of a trip you have to call off for a covered reason — such as illness, accident, death, job loss or serious damage at home. The full list of covered reasons is set out in our Anual Multiviaje policy conditions.
You can read an English-language guide to the cover on our Anual Multiviaje policy conditions page, which explains how the annual policy works and summarises the guarantees. The original Spanish Generali document is the only binding text in the event of any dispute. For a personalised quote, call 966 461 625 or contact us.
